Frequently Asked Questions

How many lessons should I take and how far apart should they be?

There is not one good answer for this question. Everyone learns a little differently and has a different amount of time to spend on their game. I teach golf schools that could be up to 6 hours in a day for 5 days in a row to 45 minute lessons. If you live in the Victoria area, ideally you would spread your lessons out to allow you to have time to practice and play in between.

If you are a beginning golfer I would recommend taking one lesson a week for at least 5 weeks to give you a good start into the game and allow you to practice twice in between lessons.

I am just starting out, what do I need?

If you are brand new to the game don’t go out to buy clubs or other equipment until we can talk. You just need to be dressed for the weather and a paid of flat soled shoes (preferably runners). I will provide clubs and everything else you might need for your lessons. We can then talk about what clubs would be good for your needs.

What if it rains?

If we had planned to do a swing lesson then we will be covered so rain is not a problem. If we had planned an on course or short game lesson then we might want to reschedule.

Do I need to take notes?

You are more than welcome to take notes as some people learn best this way. After every lesson I will send you a summary of what we talked about along with notes on how and what to practice. I might also include some reference notes and/or videos.
